At the Trans Closet, we don’t sort our clothes by gender, because clothing doesn’t have a gender—it’s just fabric! When we use “men’s” and “women’s” in our sizing guides, it’s because that’s how most brands/stores sort their clothing and sizing categories.
Sizing can vary greatly between brands, because there is very little standardization in clothes sizing nowadays. You’ve probably already noticed that “your size” is likely to be inconsistent between different items of clothing. (Just to give an example, I’m a L in some brands, and up to a 4X in others—and every size in between!) Don’t feel bad or try to fit into an item that doesn’t fit you, because your body deserves to feel comfortable—and your size does not determine your worth.
The size and shape of your body do not determine your worth. You can be happy, hot, healthy, gorgeous, desirable, and well-dressed at any size. Regardless of your size and body type, you deserve love, kindness, and respect.

Body Measurements
Knowing your body measurements is the best way to figure out your size across various brands and styles, especially when shopping online. Here’s a Quick and Easy Guide to Taking Your Body Measurements. It’s easiest to get a friend or family member to help you take your measurements, but here’s a guide on how to do it on your own.
